Too many saved posts? How to actually use what you save
By Cayden and Eden, Recola's founders. Updated .
Saves pile up because saving is one tap and using a save is a dozen. The recipe, the restaurant and the workout are still inside the video, so you would have to find it again, watch it again and write it down before doing anything with it.
The fix is to save the useful part, not the video, and to have saves come back to you. That is what Recola does: it pulls out what is in each post, files it, and helps you pick a few to actually do each week.
The free way: prune and plan
Some habits help without any app.
Save into collections
Hold the bookmark on Instagram, or tap Manage on TikTok, so every save has a home.
Pick three a week
Once a week, scroll your saves and choose three things to actually do: a dinner, a place, a workout.
Delete what you won't do
Remove saves you have lost interest in, so the rest stay findable.
It works if you keep it up. The weekly scroll through hundreds of videos is the part most people drop.
With Recola: saves turn into plans
Recola is an iPhone app for everything you save.
Share instead of bookmarking
Share posts to Recola from Instagram, TikTok or YouTube. Each one is read and filed into one of ten collections.
Plan your week
Pick up to three saves to do this week, or let Recola suggest them, and tick each one off when it is done.
Let saves come back
Recola brings saves back when they are useful, and once a month your Recall shows what you saved and what you did.

What changes
- Every save already sorted, with the useful part pulled out.
- A short list for this week instead of a pile of hundreds.
- Gentle reminders, a few a day at most, never a flood.
- A monthly Recall of what you saved and what you did.
- Widgets for your Home Screen and Lock Screen showing this week.
Questions
Why do I save so much and use so little?
Because saving is one tap and using a save takes many. Keeping the useful part and seeing a few saves at the right time closes that gap.
Can Recola bring in all my old saves?
Not in one go. Instagram and TikTok don't let other apps see your saved folders, so you share posts to Recola one at a time. The easy habit is to share instead of tapping the bookmark from now on, and to pass old saves over to Recola whenever you come across them.
Will Recola send lots of notifications?
No. At most a few a day, and you can change or turn them off in Settings.
Is Recola free?
Saving inside the app you found it in is free. Recola is a subscription through the App Store, and the Monthly and Annual plans start with a free trial.
Does Recola work on Android?
Not yet. Recola is on iPhone today.
